Marion Atherton, Executive Director

Marion Atherton brings over 25 years of arts management experience to the position, including a role as the Manager of Individual Giving and Special Events with Berkeley Symphony in 2004. She most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer and Interim Head of School at the Crowden Music Center in Berkeley. She was previously the Executive Director of the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir. Marion’s experience includes successful fundraising and financial oversight, strategic planning, and community engagement.

Gillian Eorwyn, Director of Development & Communications

Gillian Eorwyn earned her PhD in Ethnomusicology from UC Davis in 2020, specializing in Indonesian music education programs. Since receiving her degree, Gillian has enjoyed working in arts administration in Berkeley first with Gamelan Sekar Jaya and now with Berkeley Symphony.

Giulia Chiappetta, Marketing & Administrative Assistant

Giulia Chiappetta is a songwriter, singer, and instrumentalist born and raised in Berkeley. At Berkeley Symphony, she coordinates volunteer programs, manages social media, and assists with development, marketing, and administrative tasks.

Franklyn D’Antonio, Personnel Manager

As Berkeley Symphony’s Personnel Manager, Franklyn D’Antonio servers as a laiason between the musicians of Berkeley Symphony and the conducting staff and administration. As a violinist, he has accumulated a wealth of solo, chamber music and orchestral experience beginning with his studies with Jascha Heifetz at the University of Southern California at the age of 16 and including a number of years as Berkeley Symphony’s concertmaster.
