Led by Education Director and Conductor Ming Luke, these popular Saturday morning performances engage the entire family in a fun and interactive experience, guaranteed to spark a life-long interest in and passion for music. From toddlers to grandparents, there are always lots of heads bopping and toes tapping!

The Fall Family concerts in the 17-18 Season are focused on Dance and Theme and Variations. Berkeley Symphony violinist Matthew Szemela solos on selections of Vivaldi’s iconic Four Seasons and also plays parts of Piazzolla’s tango version of the Four Seasons.  Students from Berkeley Ballet Theatre showcase dance as part of these fun concerts!

About Berkeley Ballet Theater

Founded with a dedication to excellence and diversity, Berkeley Ballet Theater is a creatively charged nonprofit organization providing professional-level ballet training in an environment that welcomes all dancers. BBT is committed to breaking down the archetypes and stereotypes of traditional ballet, focusing its attention on artistry, musicality, and an exploration of the potential for physical expression. BBT believes that both dancer and viewer have the potential to be moved by dance.

BBT provides support to traditionally under-represented communities through a Boys’ Fellowship program – providing training and mentorship to promote young men in their pursuit of ballet. BBT is home to a Dance for PD program providing free, weekly movement classes to people affected by Parkinson’s disease. The school further strives to provide access to arts education to all interested dancers by keeping tuition low and providing a Tuition Assistance program offering financial aid to dancers and families in greater need.
